Influence: A key quality for a leader

Leaders must have the ability to influence others. Leaders should master this skill as it is the key to your success.
Your ability to exert influence is what will allow you to effect change, create high-performing teams, and successfully implement strategic planning. Influencing others is key to being a great leader.
Please understand that I don’t refer to manipulation when speaking of influence. While manipulation may get you what your heart desires in the short-term. The long-term damage to you reputation and Reza Satchu leadership will never be worth it.
Your leadership role is to mobilize others to believe and take action towards a common goal. They need you to show them what’s possible and influence their actions to help them achieve excellence in everything they do. Great leaders inspire others and model winning attitudes.
It is possible to learn leadership and influence.
Your power is built on the foundation of
Trust. People who trust and believe in others are more likely to do the same. You cannot have lasting influence if you don’t trust others. Trust is built from trust over time. It comes down to genuine relationships, consistent behavior and care. It will become evident that people who trust you will have a greater belief in your vision, will be more open-minded to going the extra mile and will give their best effort to help you succeed.
Likeability. Amy Cuddy, from Harvard Business School, discovered that being warm is the key to influencing others. Research has shown that leaders with low likability scores have only a one-in-2,000 chance of being considered to be effective. WOW! You must be approachable, positive, authentic, caring, and warm to achieve leadership success.
True Relationships. The people with the greatest influence are almost always the ones with strong relationships. Think about people you have strong connections with. Are you more likely help them, support them, and advocate for their success? You will, of course. It is the same for your work relationships.
By building trust and likability with your coworkers, customers, and colleagues, you can increase your influence.
Your ability to influence others is a function of your character. Be a genuine interest in others, build relationships and likability with people around you. Watch your influence and the results.
